Headache Behind The Eyes

Some of us may have or often feel a headache behind the eyes, this is a common problem among many other problems. People who experience  this usually complain of pain just behind one eye, then the pain is characterized by throbbing sensation that suddenly started from the back of the eye and then to the head. And headache are referred to as cluster headaches persist for hours or even for days.

One of causation headache behind the eyes is the most common strain. Throbbing pain and felt as though the strong ribbon tied on the head. These headaches are caused by stress, lack of sleep, and excessive eye strain. These headaches usually resolves after the pain patient has rested.

Another cause of this illness are some problems / disorders of the eye, including :

Disorders of the eye
  1. Eyes Cylindrical. People suffering from astigmatism has a retina with an irregular shape. Because the object viewed from certain angles looks blurry. To be able to see more clearly usually people squint, causing strain on the eye muscles. It can cause severe headaches.
  2. Presbiopi. As we age, our lens loses flexibility. for this reason parents have difficulty in seering objects that are close in view. Sore eyes and headaches are other problems which are caused by presbiopi.
  3. Hipermetropi or Farsightedness. In this one eye disorders, rather then focused on the retina, the image of an object is focused behind the retina. For the eyes weighed in order to view images correctly, the eye muscles become weak, and ultimately can trigger a headache.
Migraine
There are different types of migraine that can cause headaches behind the eyes. Migraine ophthamoplegic for example, this leads to migraine headaches that can last from several days to several months. Retinal migraine causes extreme pressure in the eye muscles that can cause partial loss, and sometimes the whole vison. migraine symptoms include nausea, vomiting, confusion, numbness and sensitivity to light and / or sound.

Sinusitis (Inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes)
 Peolpewho suffer from sinusitis may also experience severe pain behind the eyes. Sinus infection or inflammation of the mucous membranes of your nose can cause throbbing pain behind your eyes can be felt up to the front of your face, especially on the cheekbones. Caused by a sinus headache, usually accompanied by mild fever, nasal swelling and congestion, and sore throat.

Orbital Inflammatory Syndrome
A condition characterized by inflammation of the outskirts of the eye, which causes headaches. This condition can be diagnosed only after a CT scan was performed. Pain behind the eyes is probabilly one of the symptoms of this syndrome.

Scleritis
Pain is constant and repeated at the back of the eye can cause inflammation and redness in the eye. Scleritis can also be accompanied by gout and arthritis (Rheumatoid arthritis).

Optic Neuritis
In this condition, the inflammation can spread near the eyes. It can causes severe headaches, with distorted vision of patients, and in some cases may experience vertigo.

Cranial Nerve Palsies
This is a condition caused by cutting the blood supply to the eyes periodically. The intensity of the condition may be aggravates due to diabetes. Individuals experiencing pain in the the eye which can be cluster headaches over time. Distortion of vision are common symptoms that can be experienced by the patient.

Cluster Headaches
Apart from those discussed above, there are various types of headaches that causes extreme pain on tone side of the head behind the eyes. It can also be accompanied by a burning sensation on one side of the nose. This happens with a sense impaled in the back of the eye that torture, which appears repeatedly for weeks and are known as cluster headaches. the pain peaked in less than 5 minutes and can last for one hour. It is not common, but more severe that other headaches. the exact cause of this disease is unknown. However, according to some experts cause lies in the trigeminal nerve : Whereas, others believe that this is caused by problems in blood vessels in the head

Handling of Headaches in the Back of the eye

To cope with this kind of pain reduce tension by means of rest until the tension disappears. Another way of handling you can do the exercise, exercise like? 
Here is the explanation :
  • To perform this exercise, lie down on a hard surface.
  • with the thumb, found the skull base of your head.
  • Now rests on your thumb, and hit hard
  • Hold this position for as long as you can
  • In the case of headaches just behind the eye, do this exercise with one thumb trace the base of the skull which is located on the same side as the eye painful. Breathe deeply while doing this exercise. 
Other exercises such as massage therapy, acupuncture, and prescription drugs can help relieve pain in the head behind the eyes for those who suffer from migraines. In the case of cluster headaches, seek medical help is the best option. If for sinusitis, steam inhalation and take medication prescribed to reduce inflammation.
